Whitetail - Native Free Ranging Bow Hunts

We offer November bow hunts. We hunt active scrape lines in key funnel areas on private farm land and timber that we own, or lease. We have actively practiced Trophy Deer management for decades. We take a limited number of hunters and have a high success rate. All present indicators suggest the best is yet to come. This is a tree stand hunt. You need good camo, be scent free, minimal rattle or grunt.

In past seasons, the largest bucks harvested in the 140's & 150's B.C.. There were others of this class missed and many others seen at a distance. There have been two 190,s B.C. shot on neighboring farms, and I picked up the shed rack of a 6X6 last year that was also a 150 class buck. A lot of good bucks made it through the season. During gun season a lot of bucks find refuge on our large tracts of ground, and it ensures we have a good carry over for the next season. We try to keep quality clover pasture on the property along with a lot of does, and keep the coyote population down. Many bucks live here, many others make it a point to travel through the area. It’s a good combination.

Our hunts consist of 5 full days of hunting and 6 nights lodging. To ensure your independence on your hunting schedule, we request you provide your own transportation from the lodge to your hunting stand each day. You will arrive on Sunday, we set stands in your area (the trees will be prepped, and shooting lanes already cut), go over established deer travel patterns, discuss weather related options, time to be in the stand, least disruptive access to stand locations, and the basic “Plan A or B or C”.

This hunt is not rocket science, it is basically “be clean, be still, and stay in your tree” the high deer numbers and increased deer movement will do the rest. Your are discouraged to move about – scout – smoke or do the “Big 3”, grunt – rattle, and apply scents in excessive amounts, in our funnel areas these will sometimes work against you. Grunts and rattle should be used to pull in a buck that has been sighted and determined that he will not pass by the stand. If we get a warm spell that shuts down the rut, mock scrapes will increase interest, and during pre rut creating a “Hot Doe trail: with a scent line is deadly. Many bucks have been taken within one hour of laying a scent line.

With any Whitetail Hunt there is a lot of research needed to match your wants and needs to your outfitters services and abilities. I encourage you to call so we can discuss your wants and wishes such as shooting distance, experience, target buck size, time schedules, physical abilities etc. One reason our areas are so good, they are big, hence, sometime you might have a 2 mile walk from the truck to the stand.

We will work hard to accommodate your needs and we will be honest and tell you when we can’t, the best way to handle this is with a phone call. Ask for Eddie.
