Skinning & Care of the Meat
|
Here at White Oak, we put a great deal of emphasis
on the care of harvested game. We have a crew that gathers the animals
in the field with 4-wheelers after harvest and pictures, they are
in radio contact with the guides and the animals are retrieved and
brought to our modern skinning facilities immediately. We have another
crew that will expertly skin your trophy, taking great care it has
been properly prepared for the taxidermist.

The carcass is trimmed, broke down, washed, tagged, and placed in
front of the dual fans in the first walk in cooler for rapid cooling
of the carcass. This is very important for quality meat, you don’t
want any slimy or gamey meat, the retention of body heat will often
cause this. When you are ready to depart, present your coolers and
your animal will be cut into 8 pieces to fit nicely into 1 or 2
coolers, we also pack the meat with ice. We can also give you some
butchering tips at this time if you like.

 |
| Your meat is clean, cold, firm, packed in ice and ready to travel.
Your trophy animal’s head and hide is placed in another cooler
or plastic bag. We provide this complete service for only $35
for boar, ram, goat, and deer. $150 for elk and buffalo. If you
would like to leave your animal’s
head & cape,
we would be happy to do the taxidermy work for you. |
