Short Notice, Discounted Hunts (all species):
NEW! - Check out this new exciting offer on discounted hunts!
Spring 2008
Rather than a discounted price like we normally do in this section of our web site; I want to say that despite costs rising everywhere, we have been able to keep our prices the same as the last 2 years, AND we have some top quality animals at the old prices. I feel very good about that. For example, the Barbarossa Ram is one of our favorites. It is good eating and very large, often over 200 lbs. With huge horns, we have 2 large herds in the property now and they are priced at 850 and 950 (depending on horn size).
We consistently produce animals with horns that are 35" to 40" long – (that's each horn)! Last year we had many rams over 40", the largest that comes to mind was 43" long and 14" in circumference at the base. When you look at the horn size, the amount and quality of the meat, the beautiful trophy and a cost of 850 or 950 – when compared to any other sheep species (native or exotic) this is a great opportunity!
This is definitely not a 2nd class animal at a lesser price; these are top quality animals at the same old price. So in today's world of constantly upward spiraling costs - this is a good opportunity that should be brought to your attention (we have also held taxidermy prices this year).
Spanish Goats
We have several very good Spanish Goats on the property now with big horns and beautiful colors. They are wearing a heavy winter coat that will make excellent mounts. These are a very tough to hunt animal. They are in their 2nd year of avoiding hunters on this property. They are priced at 850 to 1050.
Russians & Razor Backs
This group of animals are doing very well. We hunted last week and had an opportunity to harvest 4 animals consisting of 3 boar and 1 sow. They are in great shape with good hair. They had nice teeth and a good layer of fat. We have seen several litters of young pigs. We always pass on pregnant and lactating sows. But, we do harvest sows that are not lactating. They are a good trophy and excellent eating. We have some excellent boar hunting to offer sportsmen this spring. Most of these animals are priced at 750 and 850. There are a few at 650 and very few at 950. Our spring season runs until the last weekend of March (March 28th and 29th).
Elk
We still have 4 big Elk bulls available. Two are 6x6's and two are 7x7's. They usually carry there antlers until mid to late March. They are priced at 6500.
Buffalo
We have removed all the surplus females and younger animals that we wanted to cull. We have a lot of big 5 year old bulls to offer. Depending on where we encounter the herd (they are running on a couple hundred acres) we might be able to stalk them for a bow shot. Otherwise, we will have to stay back always. Rifles work well and muzzleloaders are very popular and do a great job. Unless you have personally witnessed the Buffalo in action you will not believe their ability to run like a horse, jump 6' high – turn on a dime and are very powerful. So unless we have good cover, we are not going to crowd this herd.
Four Horn Ram
We have been harvesting several top quality Four Horn Rams the last few years. They have become very popular and we have a nice herd on the property now. A very wide range of horn shapes and nice colors and fleeces. The prices of these animals will range from 1500 to 1800. These are a very unique trophy.
