| “Wild Boar
have always been an exciting favorite at White Oak. Our Wild Boar hunts, as well as our Russian Boar hunts are conducted on our roughest property. Large tracts of timber and brush along with the steep hills and deep hollows lends itself to a challenging hunt.

When you give the ornery Wild Boar this type of terrain to work with, it is a real challenge. Our Wild Boar can come in a verity of colors. Black is very common. We also see some silvers and reds, also some spotted Boar – these are very striking animals. We also have the Russian Cross and Pure Bred Russian as well. All these animals share the same ground, so you never know what you might see. There are females as well as younger animals. We normally conduct these hunts on the ground with a spot and stalk approach. We also might use some drivers later in the day and we have some big Oak tree stands we use. Especially if the Boar are very aggressive and keep attacking, then the tree stand is certainly the safest place to get a good shot.
We do not know exactly all the types and sizes of the Wild Boar on our property. So if you are wanting something specific, be sure to explain that when booking your hunt. We might not be able to accommodate you. Our inventory can change often, but a bigger problem is we do not always know our inventory. Wild Boar as well as Deer hide very well, and it is hard to find them when they don’t want to be found.
Our Wild Boar DO reproduce on our property. You can see some small ones that we wouldn’t want you to harvest. With steady hunting pressure, it is hard to produce the “Super Sized Boar”, so we do not always have the 300 lb plus Boar available.
One thing I have seen over and over with Boar and Bucks; when an animal has the age needed to become an outstanding trophy, he also has the intelligence and reasoning that makes him harder to find and harder to harvest.

Most of the Wild Boar that we do harvest will range from 125 lbs to 250 lbs. Some are long and lanky, some are heavier bodied, some have thin hair, some have long thick hair. With Wild Boar, there is a great deal of variation from one animal to the next. They are all unique in that fashion.
The Wild Boars habit of wallowing in the creeks and hollows keeps them muddy and when running away or running at you, it is hard to know exactly what all the variations might be. Often it is not until after we have harvested a good Wild Boar that we can walk up and get our hands on him and actually see the quality of the tusks, the color of the hair, and exactly how big he or she might be. (Usually a sow looks exactly like a boar).

Wild Boar offers a large range of sizes and colors to our clients. So if Boar hunting is something you want to experience more then once, you can be selective and harvest many different colors. They make great trophies and photographs, and are great on the grill!
Russian Boar prices start at $650.
